I have many storys knowing Ben for close to forty years.
One day I stoped by my Cousin Eddie's, and our friend Jan Sheldon was there, talking on the phone.
I could tell by the tone in her voice, it was not a pleasant morning for her.
Asking Eddie what was going on, it seemed Ben and Don Fate had gone down to Chicago for work.
The boy's thought that everything was running good, so it was time to see the Big City.
Problem was, Don's car, and Ben's plates did not see them through the night on the town.
Ben was in the Parking lot as Don got the car to pick Ben up, the same time that Chicago's finist pulled Don over, and off to Jail.
Ben dicided it was time to go back to work, problem was, thats was a ways away, and he wasn't sure where it was exactly.
Afer what Ben said seemed like hours of walking, Ben found a couch at the curb, in a shady side of Chicago.
Curled up with his trusty tire iron he took from the car, after Don was hauled off, Ben curled up for a much needed rest.
Jan got off the phone saying she needed to go bail Don out of jail, So off we went to get Don and Ben.
I have many story's knowing Ben all those years, we lived together, Partyed together, faught like brothers, never could stay mad at each other, and everytime we saw each other, there was always a smiling face, a big hug, a kiss on the cheek.
today, your pains are gone, and ours are mending. But I know that one day, I'll turn a corner, and there you'll be, with that big smiling face, open arms, waiting for a hug.
